Can you tell me more about this acquisition?

From a strategic viewpoint, Eaton’s acquisition of Cooper Industries is about Eaton’s interest in continuing to build its global presence as a power management company. Cooper brings great engineering expertise, manufacturing capabilities and a wide range of complementary electrical products, as well as a valuable team of employees. The business adds breadth to our global business with attractive positioning in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. Acquiring Cooper allows us to further solidify our leadership positions in the global marketplace by offering even greater value to customers, employees and investors.

Where will Cooper Industries fit within Eaton?

The acquisition is part of Eaton’s Electrical Sector, which now represents approximately 60 percent of Eaton’s business.

How will Eaton and Cooper end users be affected by the acquisition?

Our customers will continue to enjoy the products and services they have come to expect from both Eaton and Cooper.  We have assured our customers that our goal is to provide them with the best products and services available in the marketplace, and we believe this acquisition will advance that goal.

What are Eaton’s integration plans for Cooper?

A joint integration team of leaders from Eaton and Cooper are engaged now in planning, and we anticipate the entire integration process to take between 24-36 months, depending on business conditions.
