Eaton Corporation would like to take this opportunity to tell you about the information we collect about you and how we use it.

In addition to the information on the job application/on-line profile form, we also collect information from you directly, such as your resume and your new hire documentation. We also may collect information about you from people you have named as your references, from previous employers and schools. We will carry out credit, criminal record, previous employment and education background checks with reference agencies. This will involve disclosing the information provided by you to such agencies that in turn will retain records of the checks.

Your information will be processed and stored on the systems used by us in the United States. Information will also be processed in other countries. Only authorized personnel worldwide will have access to your information for legitimate business purposes such as making a hiring decision. However, wherever information may be stored, used, processed, accessed or disclosed, Eaton Corporation has taken appropriate steps to ensure that your information is adequately protected in accordance with Eaton Corporation policies, applicable laws and regulations.

You can be assured that all of your information will be used and disclosed only for the purposes of administering your application and your employment relationship, should you be offered and accept a position with Eaton Corporation, including:
  • Screening for candidacy, assessing qualification and tracking candidates during the application process;
  • Verification of credentials and prior employment history and performing background checks;
  • Your employment contract with us, and prevailing policies and procedures;
  • Communications and other events that are part of your employment history, performance ratings, goal setting, compensation and rewards;
  • Compliance with statutory requirements, including record keeping and reporting for, health insurance coverage, human rights, employment equity, pension programs and tax purposes;
In the event that you are not offered a position with Eaton Corporation or decline an offer from us, unless you tell us not, we will retain your information indefinitely on the above mentioned systems in order that we may inform you of other positions, which we believe may be suitable to you. Information retained for this purpose will be processed, used, disclosed and stored in accordance with the conditions of this Disclosure Statement. Upon becoming an Eaton Corporation employee, some of the information collected about you will be disclosed to our human resources consultants and suppliers, and, where applicable, to third parties for the purpose of providing information about your employment with us or as required by law.

Condition of Employment It is a material and ongoing condition of any employment contract with Eaton Corporation that prospective and existing employees agree to the collection, use, processing and disclosure of information as set out above.
