As a Power Management Company, Eaton views its suppliers as partners, and these connections must reflect the communities where we live, work and serve. We believe that the corporation and its many communities benefit when we provide equal opportunities for all enterprises to compete for our business.
An ongoing effort by the office of Supplier Diversity identifies potential partners through purchasing organizations, trade shows and specialized supplier directories. In 2012, Eaton spent $1.4 billion on supplies provided by small businesses and minority-, U.S. veteran-, and women-owned companies across the United States.
Strategy in Action
Eaton’s new, 580,000 square foot headquarters showcases the company’s diversity, inclusion, energy-efficient products and processes to customers, suppliers and visitors. The campus offers an outstanding work environment, promoting interaction, efficiency and productivity among more than 700 employees. Eaton has centered its operations in Ohio since Joseph Eaton relocated the business there in 1915.

| Construction planning for the new Eaton Center headquarters near Cleveland, Ohio included support for the company’s inclusion and diversity goals. A Diversity Advisory Council was developed for the project to ensure involvement of a wide spectrum of contractors.
