Eaton donates $5,500 to benefit Junior Achievement programs at West Lincoln Broadwell School

Lincoln, Illinois ... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it has donated funds totaling $5,500 to support Junior Achievement programs at the West Lincoln Broadwell School, which is located less than two miles from the Eaton facility.

"This contribution is an investment in our local children, whose lives will be enhanced by participating in these programs and activities," said Larry Timm, Junior Achievement's president. "We appreciate Eaton's involvement and support.

"Junior Achievement presents the "economics of life" to K-12 students from those who know it best - business professionals," said Timm. The real benefactors of the Junior Achievement/Eaton partnership are the 196 K-8th grade West Lincoln Broadwell students. By pledging support for West Lincoln Broadwell, Eaton ensures that each K-8th grade classroom will have the opportunity to receive an interactive economic education experience. JA's sequential approach allows students to build upon what they learn in each succeeding lesson."

The donation supports Eaton's ongoing commitment to Junior Achievement and its emphasis on employee engagement. Nine Eaton employees in Lincoln are trained to serve as Junior Achievement instructors this year. Eaton has contributed $5,000 annually to Junior Achievement since 2001.

"We're proud of our employee involvement with Junior Achievement," said Patti Becker, human resources manager for the Eaton site. "The kids at West Lincoln Broadwell School aren't the only ones who benefit from this gift."

The Eaton facility, part of the company's Electrical business, employs more than 800 people who manufacture power distribution products for residential markets.
