Eaton Corporation shareholders elect Continental Airlines executive Deborah L. McCoy to Board of Directors
CLEVELAND, OHIO…Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) shareholders have elected Deborah L. McCoy, Senior Vice President, Flight Operations of Continental Airlines, Inc. (NYSE:CAL and CAL.A), to the company's Board of Directors. Stephen R. Hardis, Eaton Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We are delighted that Ms. McCoy has agreed to join our board. She brings to Eaton extraordinary management experience in a very high performance environment. Her energy and insights will bring dimension and strength to the company." McCoy, the first woman in the United States to head a major commercial airline pilot group, is a 21-year veteran of Continental. She joined the company as a pilot, and advanced through several senior pilot positions to become Senior Director, Operations Performance in 1994. In 1996 she was promoted to Staff Vice President of Operations, Training and Performance, and Vice President, Flight Training and Inflight in 1997. In 1999 she was promoted to her present position, which includes responsibility for more than 5,200 pilots and more than 8,700 flight attendants. McCoy holds a bachelor of science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and is a resident of Houston, Texas.
