Eaton dedicates new Aeroquip facility in Singapore
CLEVELAND, OHIO… Eaton Corporation's (NYSE:ETN) Aeroquip business unit today dedicated a new 186,000 square foot hose manufacturing facility in Singapore to serve Asia-Pacific markets.
The $26 million Eaton Aeroquip facility will include training, office and manufacturing activities, and is expected to employ 100 when fully operational.
Speaking at dedication ceremonies in Singapore today, Daniel E. Kimmet--Vice President of Aeroquip Operations said, "Our new Singapore hose plant represents a significant investment and commitment to the future by Eaton Aeroquip in the Asia-Pacific region. The ability to manufacture our hose products locally will allow us to be more responsive to the needs of our customers, both in terms of wider product availability and delivery timeliness." Eaton Aeroquip officials said the new facility will employ state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and technologies.
Hose products to be manufactured at the new facility include a wide range of both high-pressure spiral and wire-braided hose, and hose assemblies made by attaching metal fittings to specific lengths of hose will also be manufactured on site and shipped direct to original equipment manufacturers and distributors.
In addition, fluid connector products such as metal fittings, couplings and adapters, manufactured at company facilities in Europe and the U. S., will be stocked at the new plant for distribution to Asia-Pacific industrial customers.
