Eaton completes purchase of Boston Weatherhead business from Dana

 

CLEVELAND, OHIO ... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) today said it completed its previously announced acquisition of the Boston Weatherhead division of Dana Corporation for a purchase price of $130 million. The agreement was first announced on Oct. 1. The acquisition supports Eaton's strategy to be a full-capability provider to the fluid power industry.

Boston Weatherhead manufactures hose, tubing, and fluid connectors for fluid power systems primarily for industrial distribution, mobile off-highway and heavy-duty truck markets. In 2001, the Boston Weatherhead division had sales of $207 million and, at year-end, 1,049 employees.

Eaton Corporation is a global $7.3 billion diversified industrial manufacturer that is a leader in fluid power systems; electrical power quality, distribution and control; automotive engine air management and fuel economy; and intelligent truck systems for fuel economy and safety.
