CLEVELAND, OH...Eaton Corporation announced today that it has acquired the assets of a medium- and heavy-duty truck transmission manufacturer, Drivetrain (Pty) Ltd. of Johannesburg, South Africa, for an undisclosed amount. The company has 46 employees at its Johannesburg facility, and had sales of approximately $6 million in 1995.

The new company will be known as Eaton Truck Components (Pty) Ltd., and will move into a new facility in Johannesburg by the end of 1996.
