Eaton Names Jeff Place Director Of Supply Chain For Eaton’s Automotive Group

SOUTHFIELD, MICH … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today that Jeff Place has been named director of Supply Chain Management for the company’s Automotive Group.

Place will be located at the Eaton campus in Southfield, Mich., where he will be responsible for directing the Automotive Group’s global supply chain activities including developing and leading effective procurement strategies for current programs, advanced programs, supplier quality initiatives and capital reduction strategies.

Place joined Eaton in 2002 as a purchasing manager at the Automotive Group’s Ann Arbor Technical Center and was promoted in 2004 to divisional supply chain manager for the group’s Specialty Controls Division. Most recently he was the global factory manager for Eaton’s Airflex business unit in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to joining Eaton, Place held management positions at Whittman Hart and Honeywell.

Place holds a bachelor’s degree in materials and logistics management from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration in finance, international management and policy from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
