Eaton Donates RMB156,000 To Support Education In Changzhou
CHANGZHOU, China … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it has donated RMB 156,000 to support local education in Changzhou by aiding students from low-income families. The money is presented at a ceremony to be held today at Eaton’s Changzhou facility.
The Changzhou facility, part of Eaton’s Electrical Group, will give RMB1,500 to each of the 100 needy college and middle school students newly enrolled in Changzhou schools in 2007 so they can continue to attend school. The total donation amounts to RMB 156,000 (USD 20,000).
“Eaton has long been dedicated to supporting programs that improve the quality of life in the communities where the company operates,” said Louis Pinkham, general manager, Eaton’s Electrical Group in North Asia. “Now we are bringing this company tradition of giving back to our communities to Changzhou.”
“After we learned that some of the students in Changzhou needed financial assistance to pay their tuition, we immediately decided to get involved,” added Philip Hoare, general manager, Eaton Senyuan Switch Co., Ltd. in Changzhou. “Eaton is a company committed to education and to improving the lives of children in the communities where they do business.”
