Eaton Donates $4,000 To SAE Annual Student Exhibit Competition
SOUTHFIELD, MICH … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it has donated $4,000 to the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Detroit Section’s annual Student Exhibit Competition. The competition is held annually in conjunction with the SAE World Congress at Cobo Center in Detroit. It provides SAE collegiate members the opportunity to showcase the activities and projects each chapter has worked on throughout the year.
As part of the competition, the exhibits must incorporate the Congress theme “Engineering for Global Sustainable Mobility – It’s Up to Us.” Students can also display their design concepts, engineering analysis and manufacturing methods used to construct their SAE collegiate design competition vehicles, which are on display all week. Cash prizes are awarded to first, second and third place winners, as well as to the honorable mention.
“It’s a great honor for us to support this annual event that has proven to be an excellent platform for students to exhibit their work and share their design ideas with automakers and suppliers,” said Glenn Gouldey, vice president, Automotive Advanced Planning and Technology. “The competition truly inspires students to be more creative with their engineering methods and designs, knowing their projects will be on display.”
“SAE is extremely grateful to Eaton for its generous donations and sponsorship of the Student Exhibit Competition,” said Kevin Weber, SAE Detroit Section Chair. “Eaton’s support of this event is a true demonstration of its commitment to young engineering professionals and SAE.”
Founded in 1911, the SAE Detroit Section is the largest in the Society with more than 18,000 members from Southeastern lower Michigan.
