Eaton Offers Solutions For Every Traction Need

SOUTHFIELD, MICH. –As the world’s largest producer of differentials, diversified industrial
manufacturer Eaton Corporation provides innovative traction solutions for all original equipment
manufacturers (OEM) and the performance automotive aftermarket.

Eaton strengthened its presence in specialty vehicle markets with the acquisition of Tractech
Holdings, Inc., the parent company of such well-known brands as Detroit Locker® and Detroit
Truetrac®. These differentials are now sold alongside the Eaton Posi limited-slip differential and
the Eaton ELocker electronic locking differential, giving Eaton a larger line up of premium
differentials.

“We’re proud to be the leading producer of differentials for OEM applications but we’re also
growing our performance aftermarket business by significantly increasing our product lineup,
including a new ELocker differential for Jeep products equipped with the Dana 30 axle,” said Jeff
Romig, general manager, Eaton Performance Products division. “We now have a differential for
every on-road and off-road need, and we make the highest quality and most reliable differentials
on the market today.”

Eaton is a global company and as a leading manufacturer of original-equipment products it will
utilize its global manufacturing capabilities to produce the Eaton and Detroit differentials.
Engineering and design for all differentials have been integrated into Eaton’s global engineering
and research and development centers in Southfield and Marshall, Michigan. All product testing
and validation will be conducted at Eaton’s vast proving grounds in Marshall, Mich. where it has
complete on-road and off-road test tracks.

Eaton’s performance differential lineup includes:
• The Eaton Posi Limited-Slip Differential which is Eaton's fiber disk-based limited-slip
differential with precision forged gears. The Eaton Posi offers lifelong chatter-free operation
and is a favorite of muscle car, hot rod and mild off-roaders looking for improved traction at
launch. This is the same unit that was standard on General Motors products in the 1960s and
1970s.

• The Eaton ELocker Electronic Locking Differential was designed for four-wheel drive
systems. It gives drivers the ability to lock the differentials when necessary by simply pushing
a button on the dashboard. This differential is standard equipment on the HUMMER H2. A
new ELocker is also available for Jeep products equipped with the Dana 30 axles. The Dana
30 ELocker is available for stock 27-spline axle or the high-performance 30-spline axle.

• Detroit Locker maximizes traction by delivering 100 percent of the torque to both drive wheels.
It is engineered to keep both wheels in a constant drive mode, and has the ability to
automatically allow wheel speed differentiation when required. Enthusiasts and professionals
use the Detroit Locker in many off-road applications. It is the only differential used in NASCAR.

• Detroit Locker CTR (Circle Track Racing): This innovative design for the circle track market
allows for deeper turn entries and higher exit speeds. The ability to stay on the gas longer into
the turn and return to the pedal faster leaving the turn provides a huge advantage in racing
conditions. Whether running a dirt or asphalt, late model or modified – drivers can dominate
with a Detroit Locker CTR!

• Detroit Truetrac was the first unit available to the aftermarket featuring a fully automatic geartype
limited-slip design (no clutch or friction plates). The helical gear design provides quiet and
smooth operation while transferring the most torque to the wheel with the best traction. This
universal product will provide traction in off-road, drag racing and street performance vehicles
without affecting handling for everyday street use.

• The Detroit Gearless Locker doesn’t rely on internal gear teeth, so noise is almost nonexistent.
Instead, the unit’s locking power relies on high-strength clutch discs energized by a
Tunkenel-V Power Driver cross pin. Light Utility Vehicles (LUV) that haul loads on construction
sites, golf courses and factory floors can also benefit from the smooth locking operation of the
Detroit Gearless Locker.
