LAURINBURG, N.C., … Golf Pride® proudly raised a record breaking $194,270 in donations for the Hospice of Scotland County during its 21st annual charity golf tournament held on April 17 and 18 in Laurinburg, N.C. Since 1986, proceeds from the tournament have totaled more than $2.3 million, with the Hospice of Scotland County being the sole beneficiary.
“For the past 21 years Golf Pride has supported the Hospice of Scotland County, and we are honored to continue to help this organization provide crucial comfort and support to so many families,” said Jeff Fiorini, general manager for Eaton’s Golf Grip Division. “Our annual event is part of our commitment to the hospice and is strongly supported by our community and business partners, which is evidenced by their generous support.”
More than 400 businesses, corporations and individuals donated merchandise, or made contributions to the event this year, and 226 golfers, many of whom traveled from across the U.S., played in the tournament.
“We feel so fortunate to have Golf Pride supporting our efforts at the Hospice of Scotland County. This is a first-class event and has made a real impact in the care of so many people in our community,” said Linda McQueen, executive director for Hospice of Scotland County. “With each successful tournament, we have the opportunity to develop outreach programs, hire staff and absorb patients’ expenses.”
