Eaton Receives Medal of Excellence From Purchasing Magazine
CLEVELAND … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced it received the coveted Medal of Excellence from Purchasing Magazine. The Medal has been awarded annually since 1984 to honor purchasing departments for excellence in procurement and supply chain management performance.
“In every aspect of its purchasing and supply-chain-management operations, Eaton Corporation exemplifies a mastery of fundamentals and adherence to the best practices in the profession,” said Purchasing Editor-in-Chief Paul E. Teague. “The company truly is a role model in the procurement world.”
Eaton earned the award based on best practices in strategic sourcing, supplier selection and management, global sourcing, strategic planning and risk management, among other critical purchasing functions.
Each year, the award recipient is selected through discussions among Purchasing Magazine's senior editors and key contributing editors; and other sources in U.S. industries that may provide insight to a company's supply chain management/purchasing activity.
“This is an outstanding recognition of the team’s commitment to achieving superior results and doing business right,” said Richard B. Jacobs, Eaton vice president – Supply Chain Management. “Congratulations to our purchasing team.”
Past Medal winners include United Technologies Corp., Rockwell Collins, Hewlett-Packard, Cessna, Deere and Harley-Davidson.
