WESTMINSTER, S.C. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it donated $10,000 to benefit Tri-County Technical College. The funds will be used to purchase equipment for the school’s World Class Training Center (WCTC).

“We appreciate Eaton’s contribution and the ultimate outcomes this donation will provide,” said Dr. Ronnie L. Booth, president, Tri-County Technical College. “This money will benefit hundreds of students who take advantage of our WCTC each year.”

Eaton’s Westminster facility and Tri-County Technical College have enjoyed a mutually supportive industry and educational partnership since 1988. In 2002, Eaton became the 16th area industry to join the WCTC located on the school’s campus. The center provides workforce development, training and services to assist companies in achieving performance goals. Two Eaton employees serve on the WCTC Advisory Committee, which provides guidance in program development and identifying industry training needs.

“Eaton is a company that recognizes the importance of giving back to the community,” said Ron Young, plant manager, Eaton’s Westminster facility. “This partnership will result in increased skill levels for job candidates in the manufacturing industry.”

Eaton’s Westminster facility, part of the company’s Automotive Group, employs approximately 330 employees who produce engine valves.
