Eaton Donates $5,000 To The American Cancer Society

CLEVELAND, Tenn. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it donated $5,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society. Funds will be used to support the organization’s Relay for Life event.

“There is a high level of employee engagement at Eaton,” said Angela Mathis, American Cancer Society’s community representative in Cleveland, Tenn. “This money will go a long way to increase awareness of this disease and contribute to our mission of eliminating cancer for future generations."

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs to benefit the American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds or parks, and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Eaton employees have participated in the event for the past three years.

“It’s a good feeling to know our community will benefit from better educational programs designed to prevent and reduce the risk of getting cancer,” said Sara Gilbert, plant manager, Eaton’s Cleveland, Tenn., facility. “We’re proud to be associated with the American Cancer Society and all the important work they do.”

Eaton’s two facilities in Cleveland employ approximately 350 people. Eaton’s electrical business manufactures a variety of low voltage switching devices for commercial and industrial applications and the distribution center specializes in the distribution of fluid conveyance products such as hydraulic hoses and fittings.
