Eaton Adds -70 Series Valves With Optional On-Board Electronics To Eaton Vickers DG Valve Line
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has added a new series of solenoid operated directional valves with optional on-board electronics to the line of Vickers products offered by Eaton’s Hydraulics Operations. The new Vickers™ DG4V3-70 series valves feature leading-edge electronics and accommodate wiring practices used in automation solutions worldwide. They are rated for 80 l/min (21 U.S. gpm), at 350 bar (5,000 psi) and 210 bar (3,000 psi) tank line pressure.
Standard features:
• Plug-in coils
• 24 V DC coils (30W, 18W and 10W)
• M12 4-pin connection
• Solenoid indication lights
• Surge suppression diodes
• IP67 rated (water immersion)
• Mounting interfaces:
o ISO 4401 size 03
o CETOP RP65H, size 3
o DIN 24340, NG 6
Optional features available on DB4V3-70 series valves include:
• On-board electronic control of the coil current.
• M12 4-pin connection wired to accept:
o 24 V DC power supply
o Common
o Solenoid A command signal
o Solenoid B command signal
When equipped with the optional on-board switching amplifier, -70 valves eliminate the need for solenoid power shifting in the controls cabinet by performing the switching function at the valve. This option allows full power, 30-watt, solenoids to be controlled directly by signals from compact, low-power PLCs.
The valves wire directly to the M12 connections on the Cutler-Hammer® junction block mounted next to the valve manifold, and the 4-wire trunk connection to the cabinet carries 24 VDC power, sensor feedback and command wires. Power is distributed in the junction block and fed to the solenoids along with command signals via the M12 cable sets. Solenoid current is switched on the valve and controlled by PLC signals of 10 mA or less. This technology supports the use of pre-assembled and pre-wired electro-hydraulic manifold assemblies, which give original equipment manufacturers the opportunity to simplify electronics and increase manufacturing and assembly productivity.
DG4V3-70 series valves with on-board electronics are qualified to IP67 for water immersion and meet CE requirements.
The new -70 valves are the most recent addition to the field-proven line of Vickers brand DG valves. They build on the popular -60-valve design and add connectivity and functionality to accommodate state-of-the-art 24 VDC machine control systems intended for global applications.
