Eaton Donates $25,000 To Benefit Cleveland Leadership Center
CLEVELAND … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it donated $25,000 to benefit the Cleveland Leadership Center. Funds will be used by the Center to develop community leaders who will help address challenges facing Cleveland and the surrounding areas.
“Our programs provide an inter-generational approach emphasizing leadership development, civic engagement and networking opportunities for business leaders and students in the Cleveland area,” said Lee Friedman, president and CEO – Cleveland Leadership Center. “Thanks to the generous donations of companies like Eaton we can continue down this path in 2008.”
The Cleveland Leadership Center combines the pioneering efforts of Leadership Cleveland, one of the original leadership development programs in the country; with the energy of Cleveland Bridge Builders, an organization that identifies and trains emerging community leaders, and (i)Cleveland, an organization that builds connections between Northeast Ohio businesses and college students to keep graduates in the area. In addition, through Look Up Cleveland, the Cleveland Leadership Center provides opportunities for young high school students to learn first-hand how their community operates. Recently, the Center added a fifth flagship program, Cleveland Executive Fellowship, whose mission is to develop future public sector leaders.
“We understand the importance of giving something back to the community,” said Barry Doggett, Eaton vice president – Public and Community Affairs. “The programs offered by the Cleveland Leadership Center play a significant role in cultivating current and future leaders of Cleveland and its surrounding areas.”
Eaton’s World Headquarters is located in Cleveland. Approximately 1,700 employees work in Cleveland and the surrounding areas.
