Eaton Donates $35,000 To Benefit Community Organizations In Sumter

SUMTER, S.C. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it donated $35,000 to benefit local community organizations, including $25,000 to Crosswell Drive Elementary School and $10,000 to M.H. Newton Family Life Center

Crosswell Drive Elementary School, located in downtown Sumter, prepares students to become productive citizens by providing innovative and diverse learning opportunities in a safe and positive environment that is facilitated by staff, community, and home cooperation. The funds will be used to purchase 14 laptops and three promethium boards with projectors and tuners.

M.H. Newton Family Life Center is a community recreational center in Sumter. Funds will be used to sustain the after school program called HYPE (Helping Youth Pursue Excellence). Students are selected to participate in the program by principals, guidance counselors, teachers and parents. Each student receives a free meal and help with school assignments.

Eaton’s Electrical Assemblies Division in Sumter, part of the company’s Electrical Group, provides custom designed configured-to-order panelboard and switchboards which consist primarily of circuit breakers, and other components, assembled into sheet metal enclosures. Approximately 760 employees work at the facility.
