Eaton Donates $5,000 To Habitat For Humanity® Of Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Tenn. …Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it donated $5,000 to benefit Habitat for Humanity® (HFH) of Cleveland. Funds will be used in the construction of a home, tentatively in the new subdivision of Century Village.

“Over 80 families are presently applying for Habitat homes in Bradley County each year,” said Matthew Carlson, executive director, HFH. “Thanks to Eaton’s generous donation we can continue providing families in our community with simple, decent and affordable homes to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from our county.”

HFH’s mission is to change the lives of families living in inadequate housing. The process begins with a homeowner selection process that chooses applicants who have a need to improve their housing situation and have the ability to pay modest monthly mortgages. Applicants must be willing to work a minimum of 250 "sweat equity" hours on the construction of their home, attend homeowner classes, fully participate in a partnership with Habitat staff, sponsors, and volunteers, and commit to maintaining their Habitat home and community.

"Our employees are deeply committed to serving in the community and we are excited to team with HFH this year to work on a project," said Sara Gilbert, plant manager, Eaton’s Cleveland, Tenn., facility. "Eaton values the importance of giving something back to the communities in which we do business."

Eaton’s two facilities in Cleveland, Tenn., employ approximately 350 people. Eaton’s electrical business manufactures a variety of low voltage switching devices for commercial and industrial applications and the distribution center specializes in the distribution of fluid conveyance products such as hydraulic hoses and fittings.
