Eaton Adds A-Frame Aluminum And Cast Iron
Multiple-Section Models To Its Global Gear Pump Line

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has added multiple-section A-frame pumps with aluminum and cast iron bodies to its Global Gear Pump (GGP) line. The new pumps offer quiet, efficient operation at 4,000 psi (275 bar), input speeds up to 4,000 rpm and torques to 1,418 lb.in.

Eaton’s GGPs offer advanced design features including high-efficiency 10- and 12-tooth gear profiles; low-noise and low-pressure ripple gear design; and SAE, DIN and ISO flanges, shafts and ports. Typical GGP applications include turf care equipment, agricultural tractors and harvesters, lift trucks, skid steer loaders, salt and sand spreaders, general industrial applications and power packs

“Availability of multiple-section versions of the very popular GGP A-frame series in both aluminum and cast iron will expand the range of applications for these modern, high-performance pumps,” said Andrew Miller, marketing product manager, Gear Products.

“The cast iron pump, which will be available in the third quarter of 2008, will extend our A-frame capabilities into a whole new range of heavy-duty applications where durability is the key criteria. These pumps use a proven 10-tooth gear design and have been pressure fatigue qualified to 1 million cycles. They also will be available with B-size shafts in the A-size frame to add even more torque and pressure capacity.

“The aluminum pumps are available with either internal or external torque couples to connect each displacement,” Miller added. “The internal torque couples are shorter, but the external version carries more torque through the sections enabling higher pressure ratings in the rear sections.

“Single pump versions of the aluminum models will be available from stock with lead times as small as five days,” he said.

Aluminum versions of the new A-frame GGP pumps will be available with Eaton screw in cartridge valves (SiCV), an industry first. This will give customers a quick change capability for different types of valves and settings, further extending the flexibility of the new multiple-section A-frame product offering.
