Eaton Corporation Names Joe-Tao Zhou, Country President - China
SHANGHAI … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that Joe-Tao Zhou has been named country president - China.
Zhou will lead the corporate development and planning, government relations, financial control and governance, corporate communications and corporate social responsibility initiatives in China. He will also work with Eaton's business operations in identifying, qualifying and executing potential acquisitions, joint ventures, direct investments, licensing and strategic alliance negotiations.
In this role, he will be based in Shanghai and report directly to James W. McGill, president - Asia Pacific.
"Joe's experience in mergers and acquisitions, financial leadership and management of multiple division operations will help us achieve Eaton's growth plans in China," said McGill. "I look forward to adding his strong strategic and regional perspective to our Asia Pacific team."
Zhou joins Eaton from Alcatel Lucent after 18 years, most recently as executive vice president and executive committee member of its China operations, managing the international business division. Zhou holds a bachelor's degree in automation control engineering from Beijing University of Aerospace Technology and a postgraduate diploma in management studies from Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
Eaton began operations in China in 1993 through a joint venture agreement to manufacture steering control units and hydraulic motors. Since then, its presence has grown significantly in the region through acquisitions, joint ventures and wholly-owned subsidiaries. In China today, Eaton has 27 operations with more than 11,000 employees.
