HASTINGS, Neb. …Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it donated $32,700 to CrossRoads Mission Center in Hastings. Funds will be used to install an intercom system and security cameras; purchase a range hood with a fire-suppression unit and ice machine for the kitchen; and provide funding to purchase a vehicle for the donation center. These improvements will increase the communication and safety of all visitors and guests, as well as assist in collecting necessary donations.
“Eaton employees are very engaged in our mission. Every year they supply food at Thanksgiving and Christmas and donate leftover food from company picnics and school supplies for our families,” said Pete McConnel, executive director, CrossRoads Center. “We can’t thank them enough for their involvement and their generous donation.”
CrossRoads is a homeless shelter that assists people in obtaining clothing, food and shelter. The shelter provides a four-phase program that aims to help each guest learn important life-skills to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency. Each year, this shelter serves over 30,000 meals for the Adams and Hall County area.
“Eaton has a strong commitment to making our communities better," said Trisha Newlin, Human Resources manager, Eaton’s Hastings facility. "In that spirit, we are proud of our association with CrossRoads and the important work they do to give families a leg up in improving their lives.”
Eaton’s facility in Hastings, part of the company’s Automotive Group, employs approximately 87 people who manufacture gears and housings for differential lockers.
