Eaton Opens New Energy Efficient Expansion Of Electrical Group Headquarters In Moon Township With Support Of Local Officials
PITTSBURGH … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today celebrated the completion of its expanded Electrical Group headquarters with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and luncheon attended by Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato and a contingent of state and local officials.
“The new building expansion allows us to accelerate our innovation in electrical solutions that deliver safe, efficient, and reliable power to buildings and demonstrates our leadership in green building products, design and function,” said Randy Carson, chief executive officer, Eaton’s Electrical Group.
“This event celebrates not only the opening of this state-of-the-art facility, but the tremendous support Eaton received from Allegheny County and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development as well as the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, the Green Building Alliance and a host of state and local officials. They, and our dedicated Eaton employees, have helped solidify our role as a key economic development driver in the region,” said Carson.
The energy-efficient 120,000 square foot addition combines the Eaton’s Electrical Group‘s technical center and corporate offices, enabling more than 850 employees to work under one roof and engage in the design and development of electrical control, power distribution, interruptible power supply and industrial products, solutions and services for a global customer base. The expansion was designed and built with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification in mind. The building is expected to earn LEED silver certification.
Eaton worked with the Allegheny County Department of Economic Development and the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance to secure funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The Governor’s Action Team helped coordinate funding efforts.
