Eaton Names Monica Alston Director – Corporate Environment, Health And Safety
CLEVELAND … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced that Monica Alston has been named director – Corporate Environment, Health and Safety. Alston will be based at Eaton’s World Headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, and report to Joseph Wolfsberger, senior vice president ─ environment, health and safety.
In this role, Alston will be responsible for establishing, promoting, and monitoring the effectiveness of Eaton’s worldwide environment, health and safety programs and practices. She will also provide leadership across the company in ensuring awareness of current regulatory and compliance procedures.
“Monica will play a key role in Eaton’s commitment to being a global leader in programs and products that protect and improve the environment and practices that safeguarding the health and safety of our employees,” Wolfsberger said. “Sustainability at Eaton is part of doing business right. We have made significant progress in decreasing greenhouse gas emissions and improving safety performance, and will continue publishing our goals and metrics in our sustainability report as part of Eaton’s annual report to shareholders.”
Eaton is receiving increased recognition as a global leader in sustainability, including the number two ranking in Corporate Responsibility Officer Magazine’s “Top 100: Best Corporate Citizens,” and as one of “The World’s Most Ethical Companies” according to Ethisphere Magazine’s for the second consecutive year.
Alston most recently served as director – Global EHS Services, for GlaxoSmithKline. She also served as director - Global EHS Performance Assessment, for GlaxoSmithKline and manager- Global EHS Audits, for SmithKline Beecham. She holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Drexel University in Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
