Now Available Everywhere
KALAMAZOO, Mich. … The Roadranger marketing organization has announced that fuel-saving Roadranger FE 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lubricant is now available through every major heavy-duty truck original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in North America. New truck buyers in the United States and Canada may now specify an axle lubricant that independent research has confirmed will generate reductions in fuel consumption of more than one percent.
“Managing fuel costs continues to be one of the foremost concerns for any fleet looking to operate profitably in today’s trucking industry,” said Rick Muth, manager of lubricants for Roadranger Marketing. “Because of that, we have worked diligently with our OEM partners to make the Roadranger lubricants readily accessible for everyone. At today’s fuel prices, every one percent improvement translates to about $850 in annual savings per truck. Now, everyone purchasing a new truck can take advantage of these savings.”
Muth added that Roadranger FE 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lubricant is now listed as the standard fill for all Class 5-8 vehicles from Peterbilt and Kenworth, as well as a data book option through the makers of International, Mack, Volvo, Freightliner, Sterling and Western Star heavy-duty trucks.
Manufactured with high-quality synthetic base stock and high-performance additives, Roadranger Synthetic Lubricants are manufactured exclusively for Roadranger by Cognis Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Roadranger-approved synthetics are required in Eaton’s Fuller® transmissions and Dana’s Spicer® axles in order to qualify for extended warranty coverage and up to 500,000-mile initial drain approvals. Muth added that the lubricants meet and exceed transmission specification, Eaton PS164 REV7, and axle specification, Dana SHAES 256 REV C – which were introduced to improve low and high temperature operation, and provide better protection against gear wear in high-horsepower, high-torque, high-speed and heavy-load applications.
Additional Roadranger Synthetic Lubricants features and benefits include:
• Synthetic base stocks and high-film strengths better protect components from friction and wear.
• Best protection in severe applications, high loads and extremely cold ambient temperatures.
• Resistant to oxidation at high operating and peak drivetrain temperatures.
• Advance seal conditioning base additives help maintain and extend the life of seals.
• Non-corrosive to copper and other yellow metals common in contemporary drivetrain systems.
