Golf Pride Celebrates April As National Regripping Month To Help Golfers Maximize Their Performance On The Course In 2008
LAURINBURG, N.C. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced that Golf Pride® is offering two national promotions to educate golfers across the country on the importance of regripping, provide them with the tools to select a grip that best fits their game, and create excitement for the 2008 season.
“April marks the unofficial start of the amateur golf season and is the perfect time to educate golfers about how changing grips annually can help improve their golf game,” said Jeff Fiorini, general manager for Eaton’s Golf Grip Division. “Golf Pride is passionate about the benefits of regripping and we are excited to extend that passion to golfers everywhere by offering sweepstakes at Golf Galaxy and PGA Tour Superstores nationwide.”
Golf Galaxy Sweepstakes: The Grand Prize features two tickets to the Deutsche Bank Championship at the Tournament Players Club in Boston, Massachusetts; hotel accommodations for Friday, August 30, 2008, Saturday, August 31, 2008 and Sunday, September 1, 2007 at The Westin Providence in Providence, Rhode Island; and one set of Mizuno MX-25 irons equipped with Golf Pride DD2® grips. Entries will be accepted in all 85 Golf Galaxy Stores between 4/1/08 and 6/30/08 and the drawing will occur on August 10, 2007.
PGA Tour Superstore Sweepstakes: The Grand Prize is a three day luxury trip to the famed Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Prize includes airfare for two, deluxe accommodations including breakfast and dinner and three rounds of golf. One round will be played on Pinehurst #2 – the site of the 1999, 2005 and 2014 U.S. Open. Prize must be used in calendar year 2008 and is subject to availability. Entries will be accepted online at www.partnersclubonline.com (under the Contest tab) or through the mail and must be received between 3/1/08 and 4/30/08. A drawing will be held on May 5, 2008 and the winner will be notified within 2 weeks. Also, PGA Tour Partners Club Members receive free regripping with purchase of new Golf Pride grips at PGA Tour Superstore.
“Worn grips can cause golfers to increase hand pressure on the club, resulting in arm and wrist tension that can inhibit proper swing mechanics leading to loss of distance and control,” added Fiorini. “If a worn grip rotates in your hand even one sixteenth of an inch, a two hundred yard shot may miss its target by up to 20 yards.”
Because the grip is one of the most important components in golf and the only part of the club that a golfer actually touches, Golf Pride has developed a grip selector tool, available on its Web site (www.golfpride.com), to help identify the best grip for an individual’s game. Using the grip selector, golfers can enter their preferences on moisture management, responsiveness, surface texture and hand size, to determine which grips best suit their playing conditions and grip preferences.
