Eaton Donates $10,000 To Help Renovate Ronald McDonald House® Charities Of Memphis
MEMPHIS, Tenn. …Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced a “Powering Communities Grant” of $10,000 to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Memphis (RMH). Funds will be used to support the renovation of RMH “Building A” which opened in 1991.
Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live and work.
“The House is supported entirely by donations of funds from individuals, corporations, and organizations in our community,” said Caron D. Byrd, executive director, RMH. “Thanks to companies like Eaton we can make some much-needed improvements to our building caused by normal wear and tear over the years."
RMH is a home-away-from-home for families who are in Memphis, Tenn., while their child is receiving treatment for cancer or another catastrophic illness at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. All families stay completely free of charge and find the support and comfort of others who share the experience of having a very sick child. Since opening more than 17 years ago, more than 4,400 families have stayed at RMH.
“Many of our employees are involved in the annual fundraising activities at RMH,” said Rachel Atkins, human resources generalist, Eaton’s Memphis, Tenn., facility. “We’re proud to be associated with RMH and the important role they play in helping families get through some very difficult times.”
Eaton’s facility in Memphis, part of the company’s Hydraulics Business, employs approximately 61 people who manufacture hydraulic pumps and motors.
