Eaton Supports Horseheads-Area Organizations With $20,000 In Grants

HORSEHEADS, N.Y. …Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced two “Powering Communities Grants” to support local community organizations in the Horseheads, N.Y, area, including $10,000 to Family Service Society, Inc. and $10,000 to Reins of Hope.

Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live and work.

"Eaton is committed to giving something back to the communities in which we work," said Athenia Edwards, human resources manager for Eaton’s electrical facility in Horseheads, N.Y. "We are proud to support these organizations because they offer valuable services and benefits to the citizens of Horseheads and the surrounding areas."

Family Service Society, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit agency dedicated to the strength and well-being of families throughout Steuben County. Their mission is to provide professional counseling and community services that empower individuals and families to deal more effectively with life challenges. Eaton’s $10,000 donation will be used to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters program designed to provide life skills for children from underprivileged households.

Reins of Hope is a non-profit organization providing recreational horseback riding opportunities to adults and children with special needs. The organization’s goal is for all riders to have fun and experience success. Eaton’s $10,000 donation will be used to sustain their therapeutic riding program.

Eaton’s facility in Horseheads, part of the company’s Electrical Group, employs approximately 235 people who manufacture vacuum interrupters for use in power circuit protection.
