Eaton Provides $2,000 Sponsorship To Lawrence Technological University Race Team
SOUTHFIELD, MICH … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced today it has donated $2,000 to the Lawrence Technological University’s race team that will compete in the 2007 Formula SAE® being held May 16-20 at the Ford Michigan Proving Grounds in Romeo, Mich.
The Formula SAE® competition challenges teams of undergraduate and graduate students nationwide to conceive, design and build formula style race cars and compete in a variety of autocross events. Teams spend eight to 12 months preparing their vehicles for the competition, which must meet specific design objectives.
“We’re extremely happy to sponsor such a talented group of students in this competition,” said Glenn Gouldey, vice president, Automotive Advanced Planning and Technology, Eaton Corp. “Formula SAE® helps students learn to be creative and experiment with various engineering methods, while working toward a common goal and that is extremely important to us.”
“We are grateful to have Eaton sponsor our team,” said Provost Maria Vaz, chief academic officer at Lawrence Technological University. “Our students put a lot of time and effort into this competition and it’s a great pleasure to know they can count on Eaton’s support and resources.”
