EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced a “Powering Communities Grant” to support the Cass County Leech Lake Reservation. The $25,000 donation will be used to by food/basic needs to assist families to break the chains of poverty and become self-sufficient in the areas of wellness and sovereignty.
Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live and work.
"Many families come to the Cass Lake Community Family Service Center for basic needs such as food, clothing, household goods and furniture,” said Tom Blackbird, Director of Cass Lake Community Family Service Center. “Thanks to Eaton’s generous donation we can continue to serve the needs of the underprivileged by giving them a leg-up and providing them with the moral support they need to maintain a stable and productive life."
Cass Lake Community Family Service Center has been serving at-risk families and children in the rural town of Cass Lake and surrounding area since 1994. Their mission states ‘Helping Community Build Strong Families.’ They interpret that to mean home and family be healthy for every child especially those who cannot speak for themselves.
“Eaton is committed to giving something back to the communities in which we work,” said Lee Marske, plant manager, Eaton’s Eden Prairie, Minn., facility. “For the past 10 years our employees have been adopting foster children during the Christmas season as a way to connect with these very special kids.”
Eaton’s facility in Eden Prairie, Minn., part of the company’s Hydraulics Business employs approximately 700 people who manufacture hydraulic motors and steering units.
