PITTSBURGH ... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced the availability of a family of solid-state relays designed for customers who require relays with a high level of reliability, long service life, significantly reduced electromagnetic interference and fast response. Typical uses for solid-state relays include equipment requiring high cycling rates, low acoustical or electrical noise or high vibration resistance. They are designed to meet the requirements of a range of applications, including: packaging machinery, medical equipment, heating and cooling equipment, lighting control as well as pumps and compressors.

“Without moving mechanical parts to wear out or arcing contact to deteriorate, Eaton’s solid-state relays offer customers a high degree of reliability and long serve life,” said Zari Talebi, marketing manager at Eaton. 

Eaton’s family of solid-state relays is able to perform many of the same applications that an electromechanical relay can perform. Input and output terminals are isolated to protect the system from electrical noise. Additionally, internal snubber circuitry protects it from transients. The new offering includes the D93, D96 and D99 Series.

The D93 series is a line of heavy-duty industrial relays in the common “hockey puck” package. With a removable, finger-safe cover, it is safe and easy-to -install, and is available in a variety of input voltages and switch types up to 75 amperes (A). Also, the D93 Series is compact, and features panel mounting for flexible installation.

Eaton’s D96 Series is a technologically advanced set of electronic relays for tough applications and harsh environments. The compact 17.5 millimeter (mm) wide package with an integrated heat sink provides easy mounting in tight spaces. The integral heat sink eliminates the need for additional accessories and installation. Flexible mounting allows DIN-rail or panel mounting, and does not require additional hardware or tools.
 
A heavy-duty line of industrial relays, the D99 series includes models available in a variety of input voltages in 10A, 25A and 40A sizes. This line also features an integral heat sink, and attached metal hardware that can be used for DIN-rail or panel mounting.

All of Eaton’s solid-state relays are Underwriters Laboratories® (UL) and Canadian-UL (cUL) listed, Canadian Standards Association® (CSA) certified and meet Conformité Européenne (CE) standards. In addition, the relays are Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant.
