Eaton Donates $10,000 To Help Habitat For Humanity Build A Home In Camden, N.J.

PHILADELPHIA …Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced a “Powering Communities Grant” of $10,000 to benefit Metro Camden Habitat for Humanity, Inc® (MCHH).  Funds will be used to help build a new home in Camden, N.J.

Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live and work.

“Eaton is committed to giving something back to the local communities in which we work,” said Brigid Falasca, senior sales engineer, Eaton’s Philadelphia facility.  “Employees in the local sales office, engineering center and manufacturing plant will volunteer and provide an estimated 500 labor hours on this home build project.”

MCHH was founded in 1986, as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. They build and renovate houses for those in need in Camden County, N.J. In addition, they foster and empower healthy communities through educational programs in personal finance, successful homeownership and job training in the construction trades. 

“MCHH has transformed 36 abandoned, vandalized shells into modest, like-new homes, and has built eight new-construction houses for a total of 44 families striving to improve their situation,” said Douglass Wagner, executive director of MCHH.  “Thanks to the generosity of companies like Eaton, we can continue our mission to provide education and support to help new homeowners in Camden succeed.”

Eaton’s facilities in Philadelphia and New Jersey, part of the company’s Electrical Sector employs approximately 75 people that represent global sales and marketing, engineering service and local manufacturing.
