EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced that today it hosted 50 human resources, engineering and Master of Business Administration students from the University of Minnesota (U of M) in Minneapolis to its Hydraulics Group headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, as part of ongoing efforts to promote Eaton as an employer of choice.
Eaton’s Hydraulics Group personnel welcomed the students to the U of M Eaton Day and acquainted them with Eaton’s hydraulic motor and hydrostatic steering unit production operations in Eden Prairie, before taking the students on a plant tour.
Next on the Eaton Day agenda was a functional networking lunch in which U of M students dined with Eaton business leaders from specific disciplines in order to learn about career paths and jobs in their areas of study.
“The University of Minnesota is important to Eaton because of its high scholastic ranking, proximity to Eaton operations, and multiple disciplines from which we recruit,” said Casey Watson, university relations—campus manager.
“Experiencing a day at Eaton gave students the opportunity to see a real-world manufacturing environment and the critical role of our people and our processes. It also gave them insight on opportunities that may exist for them within our company. In turn, the event enabled Eaton to promote its brands and position the company as a highly sought-after employer.”
During their visit, U of M students also participated in a kick-off event for Eaton’s United Way campaign that generated awareness of the importance Eaton places on community support.
