Focusing on the two main themes “Green Industry Growth” and “Enterprise Social Responsibility,” the experts and participants engaged in an in-depth discussion on topics related to new energy, emission reductions, China’s green industry, the development of China’s low-carbon economy and multinational companies’ corporate social responsibility in China.
”The release of the Eaton China Sustainability Report 2009 and the white paper on green industry demonstrates that Eaton is committed to bringing leading global sustainable concepts to China, to developing environmentally friendly industries and to playing our part in fostering sustainable development for the benefit of China’s society and economy,” said Joe-Tao Zhou, president of Eaton China.
This is the second year Eaton has issued its sustainability report in China since 2008. The report introduces Eaton’s achievements and presents a wide range of its innovative green technologies and cooperative projects for China’s sustainable development. These include achieving world-class environment, health and safety (EHS) performance, opening a new Asia Pacific Headquarters in Shanghai last year, which pursued the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards, deepening involvement in community work and enriching the work environment for its employees.
Eaton’s first Eaton white paper resulted from an in-depth survey on green industry. The white paper provides an informative and constructive perspective into the current status and future trends of China’s green industry and can serve as a useful reference tool for all the stakeholders who contribute to the development of green products and technologies in the Chinese market.
