EUCLID, OH … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation’s Aerospace Fuel Systems Division based in Euclid, Ohio, has received United Technologies Corporation’s highest recognition for supplier quality and service.

“Receiving the Supplier Gold award is a tremendous honor for our employees in Euclid and a testament to their commitment to quality and customer service,” said Bradley J. Morton, president, Eaton’s Aerospace Group. “They are also our first aerospace facility to receive this award, and as a result we regard them as a pacesetter for other Eaton teams on their journey to Supplier Gold.”

UTC Supplier Gold is a program that facilitates and accelerates supplier performance improvements which recognizes suppliers who have achieved exceptional performance.  Eaton’s Aerospace Fuel Systems Division achieved UTC Supplier Gold status by demonstrating during the preceding 12 months best in class quality and delivery performance, implementation of a lean culture, and overall strong customer satisfaction.

UTC launched the Supplier Gold program in 2007 to improve the company’s supply base performance by encouraging suppliers to perform to standardized common metrics across UTC. “Only an engaged supply base, one that is as committed to excellence as we are, can help us delight our customers,” said Sam Abdelmalek, Pratt & Whitney Canada vice president - Supply Management.

Euclid employees were honored today at an award ceremony attended by officials from UTC and Eaton. The Euclid manufacturing facility is a supplier for both Pratt & Whitney Canada and Pratt & Whitney.

“Eaton’s Euclid team members embraced the Supplier Gold program as an opportunity to focus on areas where improvement was possible and worked together to close those gaps and deliver Pratt & Whitney Canada best-in-class results,” said John Cherr, business unit manager – Engine, Eaton’s  Aerospace Fuel Systems Division. “Moving forward, our goal is to not only sustain this superior performance level by continuing to fine-tune our customer service and operations but to aim for even higher levels of quality and service for our customers.”
