EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that Joao Faria has been named regional president—Americas for the Hydraulics Group, effective July 1, 2010.
Faria will report to Bill VanArsdale, president of the Hydraulics Group and will be located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He succeeds Scott Krueger, who was recently named vice president—Manufacturing Operations for the global hydraulics business.
“We are very pleased that Joao is joining the hydraulics team,” said VanArsdale. “His track record of success within Eaton’s automotive and truck businesses and his broad knowledge of global markets and customers, particularly the agricultural industry, will be valuable to our Americas operations. His previous experience working in North and South America, as well as Europe, will serve us well, and we look forward to his leadership.”
Faria joined Eaton in 1987 as a materials engineer at the Valinhos, Brazil truck plant and held quality, manufacturing and management roles within truck transmission operations. In 2002, he was named general manager of Light and Medium Duty Transmission operations in Brazil, and in 2004 he was appointed general manager—Valve Actuation for the automotive business’ Engine Air Management Operations, based in Turin, Italy. In 2005, he was named vice president and general manager, Engine Air Management Operations and then became president—Powertrain and Specialty Controls Operations. He was named president—Europe for the automotive business in 2008.
Faria holds a degree in material engineering from Sao Carlos Federal University in Brazil, and a master’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.
