RALEIGH, N.C. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced it has extended its high and ultra-high power density families with the ePDU® Core Power Series. The Core Power Series is designed to enable mid- to enterprise-level data centers.to meet three-phase power requirements with higher efficiency and reliability.
The Core Power Series units provide excellent power distribution solutions for large data centers that require heavy data processing, including banking and financial firms, software companies and Internet service providers.
“Computing densities in today’s enterprise data centers are climbing dramatically, fueled by the rapid rise of technologies such as virtualization and blade servers,” said Joe Skorjanec, ePDU product manager, Eaton Distributed Power Solutions. “Eaton’s Core Power Series ePDU products are designed to address these challenges by minimizing waste and optimizing cooling solutions.”
The ePDU products in the Core Power Series are available in both basic and monitored network technologies. In addition to the ability to remotely monitor the current draw of individual sections of the data center, the monitored versions also have the capability to exhibit a temperature profile at the rack level, identifying hot spots or cooling loss within the enclosure.
These units are optimal for 208 volt (208V) three-phase solutions and up to 50 amps (50A) of power. The 30A three-phase ePDU products are best equipped to meet the energy requirements of high-density computing environments and help organizations effectively manage future power capacity needs.
The ePDU Core Power Series line is stocked for high-availability as part of Eaton’s TopSeller Program. Eaton’s full ePDU product portfolio allows customers to deploy a plug-and-power architecture that organizes power distribution, simplifies cable management, and enables them to easily add and change information technology (IT) equipment.
