Eaton to Introduce Expanded Enclosure and Air Flow Management Portfolio at AFCOM Data Center World Expo

Date: October 4, 2010

PITTSBURGH …Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced it will introduce a newly enhanced data center solutions portfolio during the AFCOM Data Center World Fall Expo at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, October 4-5.  With the recent acquisition of Wright Line Holding, Inc., Eaton’s portfolio now includes customized enclosures, rack systems, and air flow management solutions to store, cool, power, manage and secure mission-critical information technology (IT) data center electronics.

“AFCOM Data Center World is the ideal setting to discuss how the Wright Line® portfolio of customized enclosure and thermal management capabilities will enhance Eaton’s existing offering of industry-leading power quality and power distribution products,” said Ed Komoski, president of Eaton’s Power Quality business. “This acquisition adds to Eaton’s robust solutions to help everyone -- from data center managers to CIOs -- deal with the challenges associated with energy efficiency, air flow management and capital deployment.”

Eaton completed the purchase of Wright Line on August 25, 2010, combining Wright Line’s strong enclosure and air management portfolio with Eaton’s market-leading uninterruptible power system (UPS) and power distribution offerings.

During the expo, Eaton’s booth #714 will feature a demo of its award-winning Energy Saver System technology that enables UPSs to achieve 99 percent efficiency without sacrificing reliability. This can save facilities thousands of dollars in utility and cooling costs and can also help in receiving regional utility rebates and incentives. The booth will also showcase a rack with single-phase UPSs, the Eaton BladeUPS®, and ePDU® products.

Eaton’s Wright Line booth #212 will feature the patent-pending Independent Containment System (ICS), a free-standing, scalable, sustainable and vendor-neutral containment solution for high-density computing environments

The ICS will be outfitted with the new Fire Activated Aisle Containment Ceiling, which provides automatic and immediate access to the contained aisle in the event of a data center fire incident. Ongoing demonstrations of the new ceiling solution will be held every 30 minutes at Eaton’s Wright Line booth.

Carl Cottuli, vice president of product development and services, Eaton’s Wright Line, will give a presentation exploring the most effective data center industry practices that isolate hot exhaust air from cold supply air and how data center managers can make an educated choice among the options available. The talk will be given as a Product Information Session during the conference on Monday, October 4, 2010, at 1:45 p.m.
