Eaton’s Electrical Service and Systems Division Wins Eaton Business Excellence Award
Date: February 9, 2011
Pittsburgh … Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Service and Systems Division was today presented with the 2010 Eaton Business Excellence (EBE) award. The EBE award, an exclusive recognition by diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton, signifies that the division has applied the Eaton Business System in an exemplary way throughout its organization.
Based on criteria similar to that of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, nominated business units are subjected to an exhaustive evaluation by teams of examiners in seven categories: leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis, human resource focus, process management and business results.
The Electrical Service and Systems division was one of only two EBE winners for the 2010 award.
The division celebrated its achievement with a visit from Alexander M. Cutler, Eaton chairman and chief executive officer, to the award ceremonies in Pittsburgh. Also in attendance were Thomas S. Gross, vice chairman and chief operating officer of Eaton’s Electrical Sector; Jerry Whitaker, president of Eaton’s Electrical Sector – Americas Region; and Paul Cody, vice president and general manager of Electrical Service and Systems Division.
In an address before the unveiling of the distinctive award trophy, Cutler praised the Electrical Service and Systems Division for earning the prestigious award and for serving as an example to the rest of the company. “As one of this year’s top teams, the Electrical Service and Systems Division accelerated out of the recent downturn to emerge stronger than ever before,” said Cutler. “You established new benchmarks of achievement utilizing the Eaton Business System to consistently deliver the value expected from a leading global power management company — demonstrating terrific organizational alignment and a long list of impressive accomplishments from innovation to service to overall competitiveness. Congratulations on joining the ranks of Eaton’s best teams.”
