Eaton Selected by Emirates to Provide Hydraulic Pumps and Related Support Services for Boeing B777 Fleet

IRVINE, Calif. ...Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced that it has been selected by Emirates to supply engine-driven pumps and AC motorpumps for the airline’s new order of 43 Boeing B777 passenger jets to be delivered through 2014.
As part of the contract, Eaton is also providing a unique package of support services across the life of new and currently installed units ranging from product selection, repair and upgrade to allocation of logistic spare stock at the airline’s main base of operations in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Emirates operates the world’s largest fleet of Boeing B777 passenger jets. Eaton is the exclusive provider of supplier-furnished engine-driven pumps and AC motorpumps for all of Emirate’s Airbus and Boeing fleets.
In the latest contract, Eaton will provide engine-driven pumps and related support services for Emirates’ new order of B777 jets. The company will also provide support services for the same units installed on the airline’s current B777 fleet. Engine-driven pumps and AC motorpumps generate hydraulic power for the aircraft.
Eaton also supplies a broad range of additional content on the B777, including inline motors, brake metering valves, stabilizer trim motors, ram air turbine pumps, main engine fuel pumps, environmentally sealed power relays, quantitative debris monitoring systems, rudder trim switches, a vast array of pressure, altitude and differential-pressure switches, emergency passenger door actuators and environmental control system door actuators.
