CLEVELAND … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced a “Powering Communities Grant” of $5,000 to benefit Imagination Station in Toledo, Ohio. Funds from the grant will be used to support its “Essential Elements” math and science educational outreach program, which provides unique hands on science educational experiences for Toledo-area schools. Eaton’s donation will benefit approximately 600 children at Union Elementary and Northwood Middle School.
Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live and work.
"Thanks to Eaton's generous support of our Adopt-a-School program, Imagination Station is able to continue its mission of inspiring in children the wonder of science and technology," said Lori Hauser, executive director of Imagination Station.
Imagination Station, located in downtown Toledo, is a science center dedicated to delivering science and technology based programming to youth and their families throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
“We are very pleased to support the Imagination Station’s efforts to increase math and science acumen among local school children,” said Jeff Finch, senior vice president and general manager of Eaton’s Fluid Conveyance Division. “The foundation in math and science that the Imagination Station facilitates is critical as these students prepare for future careers at companies like Eaton that design manufacture and market products that require skilled professionals with solid backgrounds in engineering and innovation."
Eaton employs approximately 115 people in the Toledo area.
