Eaton to Rock Cisco Live with its Cisco EnergyWise Certified Power Distribution Units
Date: July 11, 2011
LAS VEGAS, Nev. … Today at Cisco Live™, Cisco’s annual IT and communications conference, diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation will offer attendees a first look at its Advanced Monitored and Managed ePDU® products. Eaton is among the first companies to offer power distribution units that are integrated with the Cisco® EnergyWise™ technology.
The Cisco EnergyWise-certified ePDU products will be on display in a number of places, including the Eaton booth, Cisco EnergyWise booth and the Cisco Partner Pavilion. EnergyWise is a dedicated power management solution for IT equipment and provides clients the opportunity to administer energy requirements of Power over Ethernet devices and extends enterprise power management to desktop and laptop personal computers. Paired with the Cisco EnergyWise platform and Eaton’s Intelligent Power® Protector software, the ePDU products provide a seamless power distribution solution for small-to-medium businesses up to enterprise data center environments with real-time, remote monitoring and ultimate control at the individual outlet level.
In addition to this sneak peek of new ePDU products, Eaton will educate attendees on the benefits of pairing its uninterruptible power systems (UPSs) and virtualization solutions with Cisco products. Eaton’s UPS products protect desktops, personal computers and workstations for small office or home office applications, and offer more robust protection and power distribution solutions for networked servers and enterprise data centers.
The new Eaton 5PX UPS will also be on display. It is the first UPS in the industry to meter energy consumption of individual devices down to the outlet segment level. Eaton will also showcase its rack, enclosure and airflow management solutions. Attendees are invited to visit booth 750 to learn how Eaton can “rock your data center” with power management solutions.
