Eaton Receives Eloqua Markie Award for Successful Marketing Innovation
Date: November 8, 2011
PITTSBURGH … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced the company’s power quality products, services, and news campaign has been honored with a 2011 Eloqua Markie Award for Extraordinary Email. Eloqua, the leading provider of on-demand Revenue Performance Management solutions, presented Eaton with the award at the fifth annual Markie Award Ceremony, on Oct. 20, in San Francisco during Eloqua’s annual user conference, Eloqua Experience.
The Markie Awards recognize exceptional marketing and revenue performance management innovation, vision, and execution. Eaton was selected from a competitive field of nearly 200 submissions across 20 categories.
“While email is the preferred communication channel for most companies, the majority of email campaigns are far from extraordinary,” said Joe Payne, CEO of Eloqua. “Eaton stood out for their use of design elements, segmentation strategy, and email testing. The result was increased open and click-through rates, engagement with key audiences and this year’s Markie.”
Eaton’s campaign redesigns were centered on providing a better way of presenting a wealth of content to readers in a relatively easy format. To achieve this, Eaton condensed a long two column email into a shorter version with links to the specific articles on its own Eloqua landing page, giving readers the option to read the full version of the email or click through to specific articles.
“Our rejuvenated email campaign greatly impacts how we relate to our customers,” said Karen Primm, marketing communications operations manager, Eaton. “Our overarching goal is to establish simple, effectual communication with our audience, and through a few tweaks in layout and design, we were able to establish an engaging foundation that conveys our important product updates and breaking news more efficiently, which will only continue to drive positive results.”
Eaton’s electrical business is a global leader in power distribution, power quality, control and automation, power monitoring and energy management products and services.
