Eaton Provides Hydraulic Components for Embraer’s Second Generation Aircraft

Date: April 26, 2017

IRVINE, Calif. — Power management company Eaton will provide Embraer with highly reliable hydraulic components to outfit three of Embraer’s new second generation aircraft — E190-E2, E195-E2 and E175-E2.

Eaton's contributions include an engine-driven pump, electric motor-driven pumps, and power transfer units.

“These families of products each have more than 20 years of proven performance on multiple aircraft platforms, including commercial, regional and business jets, and have demonstrated one of the industry's best reliability records,” said Huntley Myrie, senior vice president and general manager of the Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division.

In addition to providing best-in-class products and solutions, Eaton engineers are assisting Embraer with system integration and are conducting accelerated life tests to support Embraer's entry-into-service schedule targets for all three aircraft.

“The Embraer E195-E2 took its first test flight on March 29, 2017, and the performance of all the hydraulic components was exceptional,” said Myrie.

The Embraer E195-E2 will be one of the most efficient aircraft in the regional jet market. This new aircraft will have additional seating, an increase in fuel efficiency and lower maintenance costs. The E195-E2 is expected to make its debut to the public in 2019.The 190-E2 is scheduled to enter service in 2018 and the 175-E2 in 2021.
