COLUMBUS … Gov. John R. Kasich presented diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation’s North American Financial Services Center (NAFSC) on Friday, Dec. 9, with the platinum level Governor’s Award for Excellence, an award given by The Partnership for Excellence (TPE).
The Eaton Business System provided the foundation that was critical to the NAFSC achieving this prestigious award,” said Dave Schwieterman, vice president of the NAFSC. “The Partnership’s on-site assessment and feedback provided us with real value and an outside set of eyes to help us evaluate our continuous improvement journey.”
Eaton’s NAFSC is located in Brook Park, Ohio, and has 100 employees who provide financial services to Eaton’s North American plants. Services provided at the NAFSC include payroll, supplier payment processing, travel and entertainment, purchasing card, capital projects, fixed assets and general ledger support.
“The commitment to continually improving a company is quite a responsibility,” said Al Faber, president and chief executive officer of TPE. “Eaton’s workforce is extremely dedicated to both quality and innovation. They provide a superior example of excellence to the state of Ohio.”
TPE is a non-profit organization that is Ohio’s Baldrige-based award program. Its mission is to cultivate performance excellence and continuous improvement among business, education, government, healthcare and non-profit organizations.
The NAFSC began using the internationally-recognized Baldrige National Quality Award criteria several years ago as a means of advancing quality, continuous improvement and process standardization. This process includes a comprehensive organizational assessment that helps business leaders better understand their key strengths and opportunities for improvement. The assessment includes seven categories: leadership; strategic planning; customer focus; measurement, analysis and knowledge management; workforce focus; operations focus and results.
