Eaton’s Deborah Pickens Receives 2011 Minority Business Enterprise Coordinator Award from Northern Ohio Supplier Development Council

Date: March 6, 2012

CLEVELAND … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation’s Deborah Pickens, director of supply chain management, was honored as Minority Business Enterprise Coordinator of the Year by the Northern Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council (NOMSDC).

The annual NOMSDC awards program recognizes outstanding minority-owned businesses as well as corporations and community leaders for their work and dedication to supplier diversity.

“I am honored to receive this award,” said Pickens, “and proud of Eaton’s leadership role in diversity and inclusion to expand minority business opportunities in the marketplace.”

In this role, Deborah supports Eaton’s supplier diversity initiative by fostering the development of minority and women-owned businesses, serving on local and national purchasing councils, and integrating a supplier diversity process into all business units.

“Deborah does a stellar job promoting our desire to expand minority business opportunities in the marketplace,” said Craig Reed, Eaton’s senior vice president of supply chain management. “She deserves this award for all of her hard work, and I’m proud to say she’s a vital member of my team.”

The NOMSDC is a privately funded, non-profit business organization and is one of 37 affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. NOMSDC certifies, develops and coaches minority-owned businesses and supports corporations with their supplier diversity initiatives.
