Toyo Trailer Selects Eaton’s New DuraForce Products Based on System Engineering Strengths

Date: May 29, 2012

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.  …  Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that Toyo Trailer Company, Ltd. of Osaka, Japan, specified Eaton’s new DuraForce® high-pressure pumps, motors and control valves on a highly customized 59-foot, 18-axle carrier.  Eaton’s system engineering strengths and capability to meet a short delivery schedule led to Toyo Trailer’s selection of DuraForce products for the unconventional trailer design featuring eight drive axles and 10 non-drive axles.

Developed in a global strategic alliance with Linde Hydraulics, Eaton DuraForce products are performing wheel drive, steering and jack-up functions on the 500-ton-capacity carrier that was delivered to an Asian shipbuilder.

“DuraForce products provide the precise control and high power density required for the carrier to move oceangoing ships,” said Eaton’s Yukimune Shibayama, sales manager, Hydraulics—Japan.

Other key factors in the award of business were Eaton’s close customer communication and its assistance in locating a supplier for axle components that were integrated with the Eaton components.
