Eaton’s Jackson, Mississippi Facility Recognized by Learjet as a Top Supplier

Date: May 31, 2012

JACKSON, Miss. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation’s aerospace facility in Jackson was recently recognized for its superior performance in quality, delivery and competitiveness by Learjet Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bombardier Aerospace.

“Our Learjet 85* team has enhanced Eaton’s growth position at Learjet by providing solutions that have enabled the customer to achieve program milestones,” said Stuart Mullan,
vice president and general manager of Eaton’s power and motion control division. “It has been an exciting opportunity to team with Learjet on the development of one of the world’s most advanced business jets, and it’s also an incredible honor to be recognized by Learjet as a top supplier.”

On April 18, Eaton’s Jackson facility received a Bombardier Achieving Supplier Excellence (BASE) award for achieving top supplier performance standards. The BASE program recognizes suppliers that support Bombardier’s strategy “to deliver an amazing customer experience through superior performance,” according to award literature.

The Jackson facility — home to one of the most advanced aircraft hydraulic test labs in the world — is conducting power systems tests for the Learjet 85* aircraft to prove that main and auxiliary power systems operate and interface properly to support the airplane’s scheduled entry into service in 2013.

The Learjet 85* aircraft is the first business jet with both fuselage and wings built primarily from composites, a revolutionary design advancement that will increase passenger comfort and minimize drag through smoother aerodynamics. In addition, a composite airframe requires less maintenance, is easier to repair and can extend service life. The Learjet 85* aircraft also will fly faster and farther than any Learjet business jet ever built.
