Eaton has announced that it will be sponsoring this year’s prestigious Electrical Industry Awards which have been recognising and rewarding companies and individuals who have excelled in their field and have helped shape the development of the electrical industry for the past 20 years. Karen Shaw, Marketing Communications Manager for Eaton’s Electrical business in the UK, explains why: “This event celebrates all that is best in the UK’s electrical sector and the winners are chosen solely because they demonstrate the highest standards to which others should aspire to. Eaton was privileged enough to win two awards last year and we are proud to continue to be associated with such an event through this year’s sponsorship.”
At last year’s Electrical Industry Awards, Eaton was awarded Innovative Residential/Domestic Product of the Year for its PV Switch & Surge Unit, developed in conjunction with Solarcentury. The award was given for this particular product due to its innovative design which integrates all of the key switching and surge protection components that are needed to ensure the safety, reliability and serviceability of domestic solar photovoltaic (PV) installations in a single assembly.
Additionally Kevin Harris, Trading Standards and Policy Manager at Eaton, won the award for Outstanding Contribution to Electrical Excellence. Kevin was recognised for his contribution for more than a decade to the battle against counterfeit electrical goods that threaten people’s safety and rob the electrical industry of its rightful profits.
Winners of the 20th anniversary 2012 Electrical Industry Awards will be announced at an official ceremony at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London on October 25th 2012.
